2007 07 – Alaska Cruise – Day 1

My home for the next week, the Diamond Princess is part of the Princess Cruise Lines. Stateroom C746.

Not that warm even though it's the middle of summer, nobody is interested in the swimming pool at this stage.

Whittier is a small town comprised mostly of fishing and a stop for cruise ships.

Cloudy and some rain this morning as we cruise up the College Fjord for our viewing pleasure.

It's the middle of summer yet the temperature is only a few degrees above freezing this morning.

Our first view of the glaciers. We'll end up seeing many glaciers on this cruise and the weather will be getting better.

The slow moving glaciers slowly find their way to the open sea.

With the cool wet weather most people stay tucked away inside, plenty of room to walk around the ship this morning.
